N.P.F. Sweet Charity & Ian
"The sight of that pony did something to me I've never quite been able to explain. He was more than tremendous strength and speed and beauty of motion. He set me dreaming." Walt Morey

Our love for Welsh ponies was sparked by a childhood dream of owning a pony. It was 1968 and his name was Mr. Knee-Hi. He was a wonderful companion and a gentle spirit who provided many childhood adventures.
When Amy was 6 years old, we decided it was time for a companion for her, so of course, it had to be a Welsh pony. Our first OWPS show was the 1992 American Nationals where Amy and her Half-Welsh pony, N.P.F. Princess Rose, competed. With the guidance of Calene Lencioni we became more and more involved in the Welsh pony world..
We were impressed by all of the different sections of Welsh ponies, but were particularly taken with the Section D cobs. From then on we acquired several other ponies, including N.P.F. Sweet Charity, who continues to be the heart of our herd. (Hence the prefix, Cardod, which means Charity in Welsh). Our focus was Welara (Welsh/Arab), which we have found to be gentle, versatile, and beautiful. Through 4H, open shows, and High School Equestrian team, the Welsh breed was still our main focus.
In 2004, Amy was given the opportunity to train and show the stallion Gallod Time to Go, owned by Tide Creek Welsh. Renewing our interest in Section D cobs, we acquired our first cob filly, Tide Creek Eira. Our love for the half-welsh still remains, however, and will continue to be a part of our breeding plan.
In 2005, *Fourways Calico was imported from Wales to become our foundation herd sire. We are excited about his future as a sire and performance cob and look forward to promoting him.
